Say It With Letters Scissor project

Here is my April project from Say It With Letters. The team was given either a scissor shape or the word "SEW" to create with. Once again I had so many ideas swimming in my head when I saw the fun scissor shape and decided to give it a modern/vintage twist. I tried not to over think it and just went with the flow and added a mix of cute embellishments. The creative possibilities are truly endless with the large selection of words, letters and awesome shapes Deb offers in her store. If you are looking for a unique gift idea, why not give a wooden shape a try.

Be sure to check out the gorgeous projects from the team! Awesome can't even begin to describe what they created! Also check out their beautiful new addition to their lovely family. Huge Congratulations to you Deb! You can see it all here.

Circle layout featuring SRM Stickers- and other stuff

Seeing Kara was amazing!!! She looks fantastic and I can tell that she has grown so much in just a few months. It was hard for me to leave her there in Great Lakes, but she's a grown up now and on her own and I have to accept that, even though it's not easy. lol She will stay there for her A school until October/November-ish and then hopefully she will get to come home for 2 weeks before she gets stationed on a ship. She is classified as a Fireman/Engineer. She told me she really enjoys the firefighting work and is eager to dig into more training. Have I mentioned how proud I am?!

Onto scrappy stuff. Our SRM DT challenge for the month was to use circles. I actually made 2 layouts for this one; one I was not thrilled with and then I replaced it with another that I like so much better. I am struggling with my style right now and trying to find a groove... it will emerge in time. lol

Here is the layout I posted for the challenge. I just love this photo of my dad and Kara at her high school graduation last June. My wonderful SIL Jessica took this photo and it speaks to me. I used 3 sets of sticker sheets to create the background. I really like how it turned out.

 supplies: pp: Little Yellow Bicycle
cs: Core'dinations
American Crafts Thickers
felt flowers and buttons: Making Memories
DMC Floss

Here is my original layout:

supplies: pp and die cuts: Scenic Route
cardstock: Core'dinations

You have got to make some time to check out the SRM blog to see what all the super talented designers created!!! They never cease to amaze me and leave me in awe!
Take care and have a great weekend!

April E.A.D Blog Hop day!

wahoo! I am on my way to Chicago right now. Kara graduates from boot camp tomorrow morning and I am blessed that I am able to be with her and spend some precious time with my sweet baby girl this weekend. I have to soak it up because I am not sure when I will get to see her again. I never thought I would manage to get through this time... it has seriously dragged, however the past week or so has been easier. Maybe it's because I get to see her soon or maybe just because I have learned to live without her. Maybe it's a bit of both. She is still the first person I think about in the morning and the last prayer I say at night.

Onto the scrappy stuff... The theme for this months hop is lime and pink. For my first project I created this wall hanging of this adorable kitty cat vinyl piece for Skylar. It is prrr-fect for her because the girl is obsessed with cats... and tulle and green. lol The base is actually one of my Cropper Hopper index pieces that I have had sitting around. I added some dimension to the cat by placing him on some lime green pp and then cutting around him. I also used some pieces of pp to add details to one of the eyes, the nose and ears, even the tummy area. The word was also placed on the same lime green pp and then I carefully cut them out as well.
pp: Pink Paislee, Heidi Swapp, SEI, Basic Grey and Bo Bunny.
vinyl rub on: E.A.D Designs
green rhinestones
tulle
stickers: Doodlebug Designs

I also created a card for Kara. I used a word from the Sweet Sentiments Vinyl sheet. To give it some dimension I applied the letters to blocks of patterned paper and then placed the blocks randomly on the card.

supplies-
pp and die cut: Scenic Route
vinyl rub on: E.A.D Designs
bling
stickers: Doodlebug

Emily is giving away this adorable and super cute set of Silly Owl Window Clingz!!! LOVE this set! All you have to do to win it is to leave me a comment, then head to the other DT blogs and leave them some love and finally head back to the EAD blog and leave a comment there. That's it! You will then be entered in a random drawing to win these silly little guys. I image they would look cute anywhere. :)

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Just a quickie today. Do you know that E.A.D has something new called Stickerz? These are perfect for creating cards. I used some of the clear Mothers Sheet to create these two cards.
More Stickerz are coming soon, so keep your eyes open.

Tune in tomorrow because it's time for the monthly E.A.D blog hop! Always a favorite day of mine! :)

BLS Over the Top challenge

For my first solo project from BLS I was given an "over the top" project. I used one of these fun Festive Wine Bottle tags. To make this I simply printed the image onto some Bazzill cardstock and cut it out. I then added some beading along the bottom, some rub ons and a butterfly die cut with some bling to finish it off. This took about 10 minutes total.
I have given wine as a gift and these pretty tags help to make an inexpensive and pretty personalized tag for any gift or special occasion.

Thanks for stopping by! I would love to see what you've made with these tags. Please share your creations with me. :)

SRM Stickers Spring Break Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the SRM Stickers Spring Break Blog Hop! Today is the final day and I am sure you have spent the week super inspired by what everyone on this fabulous team has created! I am the lucky one to start today's hop.

SRM Stickers used: Say It With Stickers- Mother's Day 39042

I have created a Mother's Day card as well as a Mother's Day card and coordinating container set, which I made from and empty juice jar. I figure I will just toss some pencils into it and let it sit in our school area so we will have something pretty to keep our pencils in.

I used the SRM Express Yourself- Mother's Day #42028 Stickers for this set. All papers and flowers are from Prima.

Your next stop is the incredibly talented Kathy. Don’t forget to return to SRM to leave a comment. Random winners will be chosen from each day’s comments. You have until the end of the week to hop!

On a side note.... this time next week I will be in Great Lakes, IL getting ready to watch my baby girl graduate from Boot Camp! I am super excited! I will get to spend a bit of the weekend with her which is even more exciting. It's been a really long 2 months for me and I am thrilled to get to see her, even if it is for a brief time. Have a fantastic weekend! :)

Blackleaf Studios- my first project

I was recently asked to join the DT for Blackleaf Studios. I have only used a digital image once, and I was surprised and honored to receive an invitation to join the team. Although I don't have much digital experience, it is exciting to try something new, something out of my comfort zone.

It is my first week, however this is the 5th BLS challenge. The challenge this week is to create a card using this sketch and a digital image from this cute Tea Party set:

This is my card:

Be sure to check out the cards from the other team members:

If you would like to win the entire Tea Party set, make your own creation using any Black Leaf Studio product AND the sketch! Link your image back to the April 7th challenge post on the BLS blog. I am excited to see what everyone comes up with!

SRM Stickers + Cosmo Cricket

Cosmo Cricket generously donated some of their yummy products to each of us on the SRM team and this week we showcased our projects. I am a huge fan of CC and made a trio of mini cards using the ever so cute Early Bird collection.

I used the following from SRM Stickers: Sticker Sentiments- Thank You #51005, Say It With Stickers New Year's #39043, and Sticker Sentiments- Thinking of You #51005
Thank you so much Cosmo Cricket for your support!!! Be sure to check out the amazing projects created by each of the SRM DT ladies and head on over to the Cosmo Cricket blog as well for even more fabulous  inspiration.

This has been our Spring Break week and I have been trying to make the most of it. Between work and schooling Ashlyn I have been going non-stop since Sept. and haven't had even one down day. Aside from working a few more hours this week, I pretty much vowed to do nothing other than just hang out and veg and I did a pretty good job. I hardly touched the computer, I have been reading every day, watching some TV, and I have played a lot of Guitar Hero with the girls. lol It's been nice. I did scrap a wee bit, but not as much as I would have liked. I must admit that it's going to be a little rough starting up with school again on Monday, but I do plan to enjoy the rest of this break, even though I do have to work tonight and tomorrow.

Happy Easter everyone! :)
